Neurofeedback Program

Neurofeedback is a therapeutic technique that involves monitoring and training brain wave patterns to improve mental and emotional health.  Dr. Kent will develop a customized training protocol based on the assessment results and goals. This involves selecting the appropriate neurofeedback techniques and settings, such as specific brain wave frequencies to target.

Brain waves are electrical impulses produced by the synchronized activity of neurons in the brain. These waves can be measured using electroencephalography (EEG) and are categorized by their frequency, measured in hertz (Hz). The main types of brain waves are:

  1. Delta Waves (0.5 to 4 Hz): The slowest waves, associated with deep, restorative sleep and healing processes.
  2. Theta Waves (4 to 8 Hz): Associated with light sleep, relaxation, creativity, and meditation.
  3. Alpha Waves (8 to 13 Hz): Present during relaxed wakefulness, calm, and quiet focus.
  4. Beta Waves (13 to 30 Hz): Linked to active thinking, problem-solving, and focused mental activity.
  5. Gamma Waves (30 to 100 Hz): The fastest waves, involved in high-level information processing and peak focus.

Each type of brain wave corresponds to different states of consciousness and mental activities, playing a crucial role in overall brain function and mental health.
